Up for grabs is a Rolex GMT-Master
524,XXX serial number circa early 1960
This early variation of 1675 has an early Officially Certified Chronometer “OCC” gilt Chapter Ring dial. Dial is very similar to the one used in GMT reference 6542, but they are not interchangeable due to size with 1675 case. These dials are only known to be put on for a bout a year between 1959 and 1960.
Case is in excellent condition with thick, beveled lugs throughout. Pointed crown guards are nice and sharp. The serial and reference numbers are intact and visible.
Dial is very good gilt, gloss, chapter ring, OCC. Dial is still glossy with even spidering throughout. Please note a scratch between 7 and 8 plots as well as at first “F” in word OFFICIAL. No corrosion, spotting, or matting. White date disk with open 6’s and 9’s. Hands appear to be original with Mini-GMT hand and matching tritium to plots.
Excellent bezel with beautifully but lightly faded Pepsi insert.
Caseback is excellent and stamped 1675 l.60
Movement is correct with original butterfly rotor. Currently runs well at COSC specs.
Bracelet is Rolex Swiss rivet with 11 links, 80 ends, and ’62 date stamp on clasp.
