Up for grabs is a Tudor Submariner
43X,XXX serial number circa 1964
Excellent all original vintage condition. Watch shows signs of wear, but thick lugs appear to all have original bevel. Serial and reference numbers are intact and visible. No corrosion or pitting.
Excellent Small Rose gilt Chapter Ring dial with silver print and rare Underline. Hands and plots are original and briefly glow when put under light as correct for this period. Dial is free of chips, scratches, spotting or uneven aging.
Awesome ghost faded origianl insert. Original crown. Crystal also appears to be original.
Caseback is stamped 7928 and lll.64. Outside has United Stated NAVY (USN) insignia. Watch has been found and acquired from a widow of Raymond “Bud” James Auen who wore the watch during US Sea Lab II and III dives. This is a non-issue Tudor Sub, it has not been issued by military to him. Verbal story is all I have to confirm the history, no pictures or written statements were provided.
Watch is offered in “as found” state. It runs and winds, but a service may be suggested soon. It comes on leather NATO style strap.
