Up for grabs is a Tudor Submariner Date
7021/0 reference, the first “Snowflake” reference
76X,XX7 serial number circa 1971 production
Superb vintage condition case is in unpolished condition. Vert strong visual evidence this case has never been touched by a polisher or even been in same room with that guy! Super fat lugs, original chamfers, crisp lug-hole edges, very even and strong crown guards. No corrosion or pitting. Serial and reference numbers are fully intact and clearly visible. Original Rolex twin lock winding crown is in excellent condition.
Dial is original, blue Snowflake. If you know ref. 7021 dials, you know most of them heavily deteriorate, chip, and corrode. This dial is an excellent original example with heavy orange patina. Hands are original Snowflake, tritium and show similar aging, but lighter shade of patina.
The bezel and insert are original, nicely faded blue with original tritium pearl.
Bracelet is believe to be original to the watch, Rolex USA C&I rivet stamped 7-72 on clasp. Bracelet has 12 links and is in excellent vintage condition.
This watch comes with Tudor box, guarantee booklet and original caseback sticker. The warranty booklet is filled with matching serial number to the watch and is stamped instead with 1972 as date, perhaps of when this watch was delivered to the AD from Rolex/Tudor.
Overall this is an amazing set in even more amazing condition. I do not believe the watch has ever been serviced or messed with, so a service may be needed if you are looking to wear on regular basis. Watch runs and sets though.
